The British Columbia Federation of Students is a provincial alliance of 14 university and college students’ unions from every part of BC. We work to provide students with an effective and unified voice to influence access to education.
Every election we engage students across the province to turn out and vote. We use research-based strategies proven to help motivate young voters.
On September 5th we released our report "The Youth Vote: Why Young Voters Can't Be Ignored." It shows young Canadians are now the largest single voting demographic -- the first time in over 40 years!
We're also turning out in stronger numbers. In 2015, 57.1% of 18-24 year-olds turned out to vote -- a record-breaking 18 percentage point increase from the 2011 election.
Our Time Is Now will build on this momentum and help young voters appreciate their agency and the urgency of getting involved in the 2019 federal election.
